Currently, the intersection has a four-way traffic light stop, but the roundabout will help accommodate higher traffic volumes and provide more efficient travel for commuters. By replacing the traffic light with a roundabout, the town aims to make the intersection safer and more efficient for both local residents and drivers passing through the area. This project, part of the 2020 Transportation Master Plan Update, is intended to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at the intersection.

The town will work with Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA) to relocate critical utility lines that are in the way of the future roundabout. PVREA and its contractors will be moving the utilities throughout 2025 to clear the area, so that the town’s contractor can begin roadway construction in 2026. While this work will take place outside the main roadway, on all four corners of the intersection, traffic will remain open. The town expects some equipment activity as utilities are relocated, but the goal is to minimize disruption to drivers during the process.
