Project Update: April 29

A selection of playground vendors were invited to submit design concepts for the replacement of the existing playground at Eastman Park. Three design renderings were ultimately selected and shared with the public for feedback, allowing community members to vote for their preferred option.

After a successful engagement process that got feedback from over 1900 community members, Option 3 was selected as the future playground at Eastman Park.

The final design includes a revised color scheme for maintenance purposes; however, all play features remain consistent with the originally selected concept. In addition, several shade structures have been added throughout the playground area.

The playground equipment has been ordered and is expected to arrive in 10–12 weeks, followed by approximately 4–5 weeks for demolition of the existing structure and installation of the new playground. The new playground is anticipated to open to the public in August 2026.

The current playground will remain in use through mid-to-late July, at which point demolition will begin.
