Fossil Creek Drainage Master Plan
A new diversion channel will be constructed to better manage stormwater in this area. The channel will direct drainage into an existing detention pond within the proposed Thornburg Hamilton Subdivision 5th Filing, using a drop inlet system to safely capture and convey runoff.
Currently, because the land remains undeveloped, large storm events can overwhelm natural drainage patterns. Stormwater flows into the Louden Ditch, often exceeding its capacity. This has led to overtopping and downstream flooding impacting Windsor residents and nearby commercial areas within the Fossil Creek Drainage Basin.

By redirecting stormwater into the detention pond, this project will help reduce pressure on the Louden Ditch, improve overall drainage performance, and lessen the risk of flooding during major storm events
