April 2026 Update

Construction on the Kern Ditch culvert extension is nearly complete, with only the installation of hand railing remaining. This final step will enhance safety for pedestrians and nearby users before the project is fully wrapped up.

This improvement plays an important role in maintaining proper water flow within the town’s irrigation and drainage system. By extending the culvert, water can continue to move safely and efficiently beneath nearby roadways and access points without disrupting irrigation operations or increasing the risk of overflow.

In addition to improving functionality, the culvert extension helps reduce erosion, minimize localized flooding and protect adjacent streets and properties. Overall, this project supports long-term drainage reliability and ensures the Kern Ditch continues to function effectively as both an irrigation and stormwater conveyance feature.
