The Town of Windsor Museums is creating a strategic plan. Learn more about the project and share your ideas and feedback here.
What is the Windsor Museums’ Strategic Plan?
The Town of Windsor Museums, a division of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department, is developing the Town of Windsor Museums Strategic Plan to guide us for the next 3-5 years. Windsor Museums encompasses the Art & Heritage Center, which is housed in the 1909 historic town hall on 5th Street, and the Windsor History Museum, which consists of the historic train depot and a collection of historic buildings next to Boardwalk Community Park. Windsor Museums provides an array of cultural and educational offerings to the community at these sites and throughout town. In the next two years, the division anticipates opening the Historic Halfway Homestead, a 2-acre agricultural heritage park, and the Eaton House, a center for nature education, as additional museum sites.
The last strategic plan for Windsor Museums was completed in 2012, and a new plan is needed to help guide Windsor Museums as it continues to grow and expand its offerings; takes on two additional sites; and develops interpretive themes, programming, and exhibits to activate these sites. Windsor Museums will continue striving to meet museum best practices and provide exceptional experiences and services for the Windsor community.
We need your help!
To achieve the Windsor Museums’ mission “To build community through creativity and discovery,” we need to understand what the community’s hopes and aspirations are for its museums.
