The expansion of Windsor’s Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) is necessary to accommodate an increase in wastewater demands. The current facility no longer has the capacity to effectively treat the increased volume of wastewater. To address this, there will be an expansion to the campus to treat up to 6.3 million gallons per day (MGD), significantly increasing the town’s ability to treat wastewater and ensure that the treatment process meets environmental standards.
This new facility will be designed to handle the town's future needs, improving efficiency and providing better service to residents and businesses. The expansion is an important step in ensuring that the town can develop without straining its wastewater infrastructure.
This expansion will also help protect local water sources by ensuring that wastewater is properly treated before being released back into the environment. This will maintain water quality and help meet the community’s increasing environmental and regulatory requirements.
