Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies to Celebrate Playground Improvements at Boardwalk and Covenant Parks

Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture invites the public to attend the Boardwalk Park ribbon cutting located at 100 N. 5th St., from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the Covenant Park ribbon cutting located at 601 Southwood Ln., from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 1. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary snow cone and explore the new playground improvements.

The Boardwalk Park playground improvements allow the community to enjoy a variety of new features, from an outdoor gym, a multi-story play structure, swings, and a climbing net. These upgrades will make Boardwalk Park a real destination playground, providing opportunities for all ages and something for everyone to enjoy.

The Covenant Park playground improvements feature a playground that includes two structure areas, one specifically for younger and one specifically for older children. Improvements include sensory play, a zip line track, a climbing net and more.

    Boardwalk Park, located at 100 N 5th St., will be temporally closed while a complete playground replacement is scheduled to begin April 3 through April 15, weather permitting. Boardwalk Park is adjacent to Windsor Lake and is a central gathering place for community events, recreational opportunities and more.

    Covenant Park, 601 Southwood Ln., is also scheduled for a complete playground replacement beginning April 3 through April 30, weather permitting. The nature-themed playground will feature two structure areas, one for younger and older children.
