Historic Preservation Plan

Which historic places in Windsor do you think are important to preserve and protect?

The Town of Windsor Historic Preservation Commission is creating an Historic Preservation Plan for Windsor and they need your thoughts and ideas!

The Historic Preservation Commission received a grant of $23,250 from History Colorado to hire Ron Sladek, President of Tatanka Historic Associates, to create Windsor’s first Preservation Plan. The Preservation Plan will serve as a guiding document for the Historic Preservation Commission and outline Windsor’s vision for the sustainable preservation of historic resources; set forth achievable objectives, goals, and policies; and create an action plan for implementation. In addition, the Plan will also serve as an informational resource for property owners and members of the general public to learn about preservation in Windsor.

The Plan will include:

1. Historic Context and Resources
2. Preservation Program Components: Operating Framework, Survey & Assessment, Preservation Designation, Incentives, Outreach & Education, Preservation Partners
3. Implementation: Vision, Objectives, Goals

Did you know that any building in Windsor which is fifty years old or older is eligible to be designated as a Local Historic Landmark?
