The Kodak Open Space is comprised of 145 acres of land located in the Town of Windsor along SH-257 from Poudre Trail Drive to just south of Crossroads Boulevard and extends to the Cache La Poudre River to the east. An archery range and the Poudre River Trail, which runs along the north edge of the property, can be accessed from the Kodak Poudre River Trailhead. The Town has hired a team of experts to help program the space in consideration of the Town’s Open Space & Trails Strategic Plan which categorizes site interactions in terms of experiences: nature, trail, habitat, agricultural, and separately, habitat preservation.
In late June, the planning team attended a number of public events, including Bike Everywhere Day, a Thursday night concert, and a Saturday Farmers' Market, to solicit community opinions on increased access to the Kodak Open Space. Specific event dates are listed in the "Key Dates" sidebar and summary graphs of the two questions that were asked in both the survey and in-person format are shared under "Community Engagement Results!" at right.
That feedback, along with professional wetlands and endangered species assessments, have been incorporated into a draft master plan. We are currently analyzing your valued thoughts on planning for this community open space! Stay tuned for the results.
