The Town of Windsor has hired Burns & McDonnell to study residential solid waste services and evaluate whether the town should begin offering trash and recycling service. The study will also consider other options, including transitioning to a single-hauler system or maintaining the current approach.

The review is driven in part by the presence of at least five trash haulers operating in Windsor. Town officials have noted that frequent trash truck traffic contributes to wear and tear on local streets, and residents have raised concerns about seeing trash trucks in their neighborhoods nearly every day.
